What is this project about?

GIZ Uganda, through the Promotion of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Programme (PREEEP) in partnership with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, the Ministry of Education and Sports, supported by a consortium of three German partners, is delivering a Skills Development Component committed to supporting the rapid expansion and availability of quality renewable energy related courses in Northern Uganda.

Specifically, solar PV market growth potential in Uganda is promising with a great potential to provide about 39.4% of the renew-able-based power capacity by 2040, from currently 1% (50.8 MW).

This programme is perfect for complete beginners with zero solar background, and also for experienced solar professionals who want to enhance their skills and increment knowledge. GIZ is committed to supporting equal opportunities in education. Interested women are therefore strongly encouraged to participate.

All the training courses are developed by international experts with years of experience in the field who are all still involved in real-life projects every day, so the knowledge and experience they are sharing is proven in practice and completely up-to-date.
