Transformational Energy Use for Sierra Leone – Phase 1
Background
The project is part of the Action “Transformational Energy Use for Sierra Leone – Phase 1” (TEUSL-1), a multi-donor action jointly co-financed by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, BMZ and implemented by GIZ as a contribution to the multi-donor initiative Energising Development (EnDev), which is also financed by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (NORAD), the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). EnDev is active in Sierra Leone since 2014.
With this multistage ToT training, EnDev and selected ToT TVET institutions in the districts Kenema and Kono aim to enhance the capacity and knowledge of TVET teachers in the field of designing, installing and maintaining solar PV systems.
What is this online training about?
This online training is part of the multistage ToT training. The aim of the online training as the first phase of the solar PV ToT program is to provide participants with a strong theoretical foundation, covering core concepts, system components, design principles, and relevant standards. It standardizes knowledge, introduces basic instructional skills, and prepares participants for hands-on training in subsequent phases. This phase also assesses participants’ readiness and equips them with virtual teaching techniques to effectively engage and communicate technical content. The goal is to ensure a uniform knowledge base and set the stage for advanced, practical learning.
The training content will be made available on this e-lerarning platform to enable participants to access it for review and practice. The platform also enables participants and trainers to exchange questions in the forum. Furthermore, evaluations will be carried out per course topic.
